Lova G. Njuguna MC, NCC, LPC offers 12 years of experience and expertise in counseling clients in sexual issues, relationship and interpersonal issues, domestic violence, sexual abuse, obsession and compulsion, and addiction.

Her experience in working with court-mandated clients translates to an ability to establish rapid rapport with diverse cultural populations.

Lova received a Master of Counseling degree from the University of Phoenix in 1997.

In 1997, she received National Certified Counselor, #50891, from the National Board for Certified Counselors.

In 1999, she received Licensed Professional Counselor, #2171, from the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners.

In 2009, Lova received Licensed Independent Substance Abuse Counselor #11871 from the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners

  • From 2007 to present, Lova is the Clinical Supervisor and past Sexual Offender Program Director at the Center for Life Skills Development, LLC, Tucson, AZ. In addition to management and supervision duties, she collaborates in developing treatment programs and providing counseling and evaluation in sexual offense, domestic violence, anger management, cognitive skills, and substance abuse. She has served as the alternate treatment liaison to the Pima County Superior Court's Drug Court Program.

  • From 1998 – 2006, Lova began as a counselor and eventually became Clinical Director of Counseling & Consulting Services, Tucson, AZ. In addition to the management and supervision duties of Clinical Director, she collaborated in developing treatment programs and provided counseling in sexual offense, domestic violence, anger management, and substance abuse. She performed risk assessments for the court as well as providing court testimony concerning her assessment and treatment of offenders. Lova collaborated in the development of group models and curricula for the Drug Court Treatment Program for the Superior Court of Pima County, including the Relapse Program. She served as the Treatment Liaison for the Pima County Drug Court Program and Community Partnership of Southern Arizona’s Arizona Families First Program. In 1999, Lova was interviewed on a Nightline segment on the Pima County Drug Court Program.

  • From 1998 – 1999, Lova was a case manager at Vida Nueva, Compass Healthcare, Tucson, AZ, a transitional housing community for females recovering from alcoholism and drug addiction. In that capacity, she counseled and coached the recovery and life skills progress of the residents. She also lectured residents on the topics of Guilt and Shame, Grief and Loss, Fear and Anxiety, and Anger and Depression.

  • From 1997-1999, Lova performed her internship and post graduation employment at Westcenter, Tucson, AZ. Westcenter provided detoxification, inpatient, outpatient (intensive and standard), and Aftercare therapy to addictions patients. Lova facilitated groups using the 12-Step model. She also lectured to inpatients and Family Program on Sex and Love Addiction, Guilt and Shame, Treatment and Recovery, Family of Origin, Relationships and Communication, and Approach/Avoidance Relationships.
